Massimo Oro Nobili analizza gli scritti di Richard Paul Roe 'Shakespeare's guide to Italy' giungendo alla conclusioni che Roe  è il nuovo Shlieman. Infatti proprio come Shlieman con Omero, Roe trova che gli scritti di Shakespeare, riguardo all'italia, non hanno un'ambientazione solo dettata dalla fantasia ma anche fortemente agganciata ai luoghi che descrive, dimostrando così di conoscerli molto bene e profondamente.

 

Massimo Oro Nobili analyzes Richard Paul Roe's book 'Shakespeare's guide to Italy' and concludes that Roe is the new Shlieman. In fact, like Shlieman with Omero, Roe finds out that Shakespeare's plays regarding Italy do not have an ambientation only suggested by fantasy, as Stratfordian schollers propose,  but also grounded in the places that he describes. Thus, in this book, Roe demonstrates that Shakespeare knowledge of Italy was not 'patchy' at all but, instead, deep and profund.
